Good River, Bad River, Little River, Big River builds contrasts between attitudes of reverence and exploitation in sound, text and image, and the river as a place that things flow through, and a place in itself; simultaneously understood as a life-giving force by some and a resource to be mined by others. Through a series of conversations held along its route, Temporary continent. tracks some of the different guises the Mississippi has taken for those who live and work with it.
